The business
Dry Waves teaches surfskate in Ericeira: group and private lessons, a shop with boards and gear, and partnerships with hostels and surf camps that bring in students every week. The partners share the lessons, the vans and the accounts.
The problem
Every piece lived somewhere else: lessons in Google Calendar, bookings in a website plugin that didn’t talk to anything, partner commissions worked out by hand. At the end of the month everything had to be pulled together to know each person’s share.
What we built
Calendar
Synced with Google Calendar. Every lesson becomes a record with students, instructors, van, prices and partner.
Bookings
The website’s “Book now” button and a QR code per partner. Bookings land in the app; last-minute ones wait for approval.
Finances
Income and expenses by who received the money, settlement with each partner and an automatic month-end close.
Reports
Average revenue and profit per lesson, no-shows and cancellations, results by partner and by instructor.
Shop
Products with stock by size and a record of sales, with the cost of each sale kept.
Notifications
Phone notifications for the team and automatic reminders every morning and evening.
Numbers you can trust
An app that handles money between partners can’t get it wrong. So automatic checks confirm that the calendar, finances and reports always agree — and tests simulate a whole month with the cases that usually go wrong.
Under the hood: Next.js and a database in the European Union (Ireland). Its own phone notifications, no third-party apps.
